ON THE RISE
ON THE RISE is a zine project for Tag Agency. This year they set up the “On The Rise Award” to shine a light on young community champions in the ever changing Hackney Wick and surrounding Hackney area.
In delving into the practices, lives and histories of seven young people, we gain insight into what it’s like to lead a life imbued in community innovation against the backdrop of gentrification, a culture, and displacement. And how despite mixed feelings towards Hackney’s inclusion of their community’s needs, they all possess a futuristic flair and know that they’re here to stay.
